Reflections
by Paul Clayton, Outgoing PATH President
Looking over the records of the year's worktrips, I can't help but be amazed at the sheer number of club members actively involved in trail maintenance. The March weekend, first trip of the year, has always been popular, so it was no surprise to see 45 people at Konnarock Saturday morning. What was surprising was to see 28 on a rainy weekend in April, 34 in the heat of July (vacation season at that), and a resounding 46 for the back?to?school September trip.
How has PATH been able to compile this enviable record? By being open, warm and friendly with each new recruit. By giving everyone the chance to do meaningful work. By communicating freely through our wonderful newsletter and website. By respecting and valuing every member of the club.
We could each think of many more things that make our club strong. It seems to me that we should always keep them in mind. Great things like PATH don't happen by accident.
