  • View of Burke's Garden from the north slope of Garden Mountain on the boundary, just uphill from a recent logging area. Won't see this view without a little downslope bushwhacking.
  • End-of-day bailout upslope to the A.T. The flagged a tree denotes the re-entry point for follow-up work. Note the 2 "Dragon Back" rocks to the lower right -- ID in case the flagging disappears.
  • Yvette, Jacob (student) and Charlotte traversing the north slope of Garden Mountain as we work along the boundary line. Jacob's Dad, Randy, is hidden behind Yvette.
  • ... and the traverse continues. Randy, Charlotte and Yvette are re-painting red blazes on line trees in the background.

  • Fall in Burke's Garden .....
  • .... beautiful fall colors.
  • View from Gose Rd. on the far north side of Burke's Garden, looking southwest. Note the "notch" along the distant ridgeline. I think this is the Chestnut Ridge view area at the shelter clearing.
  • New store open at 920 Gose Mill Rd. on the north side of the Garden. Mattie (local Amish woman) operated the south-side store, but now has her own store open.
